UCI Health, Laguna Hills, California

Initially SRB Design, Inc. represented the Building Owner - Greenlaw Partners for Space Planning and Construction Documents for tenants in the building on recommendation by Colliers International brokers. An inquiry by UCI Health as to who the building owner used for Space Planning services lead to an interview with SRB Design, Inc. and were ultimately retained by UCI Health in September 2019. During construction the building was acquired by another SRB Design, Inc. client of 15 years Healthcare Realty Trust.

Scope of services for UCI Health were the following for this ~20,000 square foot Outpatient Facility:

Space Planning including multiple revisions on-the-fly due to scope of services and in-house project management by the UCI Health team.

Design Development including multiple presentations of color schemes, lighting design and pre-construction visualization with renderings of key spaces.

Construction Documents including coordination of consulting Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and Structural Engineering services.

Construction coordination with General Contractor and UCI Health and Building Owners during the 6 month Construction cycle during Covide 19.

Note that there was not one Covid-19 case among the General Contractor (CDG Builders, Irvine, California) or any of their sub-contractors over the duration of the construction which began in earnest January 2021.

Located in the heart of South Orange County, 23961 Calle de la Magdalena, Suite 200, Laguna Hills, California. This facility is within a few hundred yards from the I-5 freeway and adjacent to Saddleback Memorial Hospital.

This project, began in the fall of 2019 and completed in mid 2021, is an outpatient facility fitting into approx. 20,000 square feet the following:

    • 7 person Nurse Station and support rooms such as Clean and Soiled Utility Rooms, Restroom, Physician Private Offices

  • Stat Lab

    • This allows for direct processing and analysis of blood and urine tests proscribed by on-site physicians with immediate access to the Blood Draw area and urine collection restroom

  • Multi-Specialty Care

    • Vitals area

    • Approx. 17 Exam / Treatment Rooms with support spaces

      • Clean and Soiled Utility Rooms

      • Exam and Treatment Room

      • Cardio Room

      • 2 Nurse Stations accommodating 12 nurses

  • Cancer Care - Oncology

    • Separate Oncology Waiting Room

    • Compounding Pharmacy

    • Infusion Room

      • 14 chair Infusion Room with support such as Restrooms, Nurse Stations, Clean and Soiled Utility Rooms, etc.

      • Patient control of individual overhead task lighting
